Free Gaza! ::: Manifestatie Groningen 2018

Ik keur alle geweld af, vanuit welke hoek dan ook. Waar dan ook ter wereld. Ik ben een pacifist. In onze wereld streven we duurzame vrede na en zijn we tegen oorlog en geweld. In onze wereld telt elk mens. En mag er nooit weggekeken worden als er een volk waar dan ook op de wereld neergeschoten wordt omdat zij strijden voor vrijheid. Dit mogen we nooit accepteren.

In onze wereld kunnen kinderen spelen op het strand zonder neergeschoten te worden. In onze wereld worden kinderen niet opgepakt of mishandeld. In onze wereld mag er nergens een volk onderdrukt worden. In onze wereld bezetten we geen gebieden maar leven we gelijkwaardig samen. In onze wereld mag kolonisatie in 2018 geen optie zijn. In onze wereld behoort kolonisatie tot het verleden en zeggen we; nooit meer!

In onze wereld doen we niet aan victim blaming. Want ook al is alle geweld fout; er is een verschil tussen onderdrukken of onderdrukt worden. Dat verschil mogen we nooit vergeten. In onze wereld betekent internationale solidariteit altijd naast het onderdrukte volk staan. In onze wereld is zwijgen geen optie! In onze wereld moet onze beweging van solidariteit groeien, net zo lang tot er een einde is gekomen aan de bezetting van Palestina!

Het is zoals Sadet Karabulut zei in de Tweede Kamer: ‘wanneer Palestina al meer dan 50 jaar wordt bezet, en er een illegale muur wordt gebouwd, en de Gazanen 1,9 miljoen mensen eigenlijk in een openluchtgevangenis leven, wanneer komt dan het moment dat we dit gaan veroordelen?’

Israël is een reus die alle Palestijnen op dit moment plat walst. En iedere keer kijkt de internationale gemeenschap weg. En iedere keer geef je dan eigenlijk een ‘licence to kill.’

No more!

Vandaag zijn we bij elkaar om de Palestijnen een signaal te geven dat wij hen wel zien.

We see you!

En wij spreken ons uit. Want jullie doen ertoe. Jullie kwestie is onze kwestie. Want jullie kwestie, beste Palestijnen, is een kwestie van mensenrechten. En mensenrechten gaan ons allemaal aan; waar ook ter wereld. Dus vandaag in Nederland, in Groningen spreken wij ons uit. Free Palestina!

En mensen, dit is geen kwestie van Palestijnen versus Joden. Er zijn ook Joden tegen de bezetting. Ook zij protesteren op regelmatig verschillende plaatsen tegen de onderdrukking van de Palestijnen.

Antisemitisme leeft en is fout. Ik zal nooit ontkennen dat jodenhaat bestaat. En als ik dat tegenkom zal ik net zoals nu, tegen de onderdrukking in Gaza, me uitspreken en opstaan.

Ik zal altijd zij aan zij strijden, met wie dan ook, als de gezamenlijke strijd menswaardigheid is. Dat is hoe wij het als mensheid horen te doen. Samen voor elkaar. Dat is de wereld waarin ik wil leven.

Er is geen vrijheid zolang de Palestijnen nog onderdrukt worden. Er is geen vrijheid als niet alle mensen vrij zijn.

Ladies and gentlemen, I would like to thank you for your presence today in this event to support the Palestinian people which have been suffering hard under the Israeli occupation since the Nakba in 1948 and then later the occupation to the West Bank and Gaza in 1967. This event expresses that the human conscience is one unit regardless religion, race, or sex, and it expresses that Palestine is still existed in our human conscience which once stood against the apartheid regime in South Africa and with all oppressed nations around the world.
In 1948 my grandfather, my grandmother and some of my family have been dismantled with many other Palestinians from their own homeland Palestine towards many exiles around it and around the world. This was the first diaspora, where all of those people were prevented from their right to return back to their villages and cities in their own homeland Palestine.
Our people have protested against the Israeli occupation and against Trump’s decision of declaring Jerusalem (Al-Quds) as the capital of Israel and to reject all practices committed by this occupation like the settlements in the West Bank and Jerusalem and like the siege of nearly two million people in Gaza. They reject the Israeli policies against the prisoners and detainees of men, women and children in Israeli jails.
This event shows that the human conscience has not been affected by hypocrisy and the Israeli propaganda which claims that occupying state is the only democratic state in the Middle East.
But what sort of democracy is this and what sort of humanity is this which allows killing more than 65 peaceful disarmed demonstrators and wounding other thousands of men, women and children who have been demonstrating only for a decent life and for an independent homeland, just as we are standing here today?
Israel kills children, women, young men and the elderly, and imprisoning others. There are more than 350 children imprisoned in the Israeli jails, and the last one of them was the child Ahed Al Tamimi (14 years old) who is still in the jail for a couple of months now, just because she slapped a soldier when he broke in their house. The Israeli terrorist settlers burned the Dawabsha’s house killing the father the mother and their 18 months child and causing harmful burns to the rest of the family, those terrorists also burned the child Mohammed Abu Khdier alive!
That state’s snipers shot Fadi Abu Salah who was demonstrating peacefully on his wheelchair in Gaza. This man had lost his legs in the previous war on Gaza in 2014
That state which claims democracy has released one of the soldiers who killed the wounded disarmed Palestinian young man Abdulfattah Alsharief in Hebron when he was bleeding on the ground. And they also killed the volunteering paramedic Razan Alnajjar two days ago with two bullets in the chest and back, while she was trying to save the lives of injured Palestinians peacefully protesting in Gaza, demanding basic human rights after 70 miserable years of colonization.
That state’s Bulldozers ran over an American Jewish girl Rachel Corrie who came to support our people in Gaza. This girl stood in front of an Israeli bulldozer to prevent it from demolishing Palestinians’ properties.
That state built a separation wall which is separating the families, cities and villages from each other, and they confiscate the Palestinians’ lands and establishing settlements and roads in steads, where the Palestinians are not allowed to drive through them under the pretext of security. In addition, they burn the properties of the Palestinians, their olive trees and their crops. They also destroy their houses in all villages and cities. The last incident of genocide was the destroying of “Khan Alahmar” village a few days ago.
That state prevents Palestinians from travelling through 800 KM and restricts their living with about 700 checkpoints.
Isn’t this state that does all of these actions a state of apartheid? .. if it is not so, then what is racism then?
Our people takes a civilized attitude against all forms of terrorism. Terrorism of individuals, groups or nations. And we consider this occupation as the top of racism and terrorism.
America Vetoed against a resolution to secure the international protection for this oppressed people. Knowing that, Israel always ignores the resolutions of the international legitimacy, as the resolution 181 which declares the establishment of two states Palestine and Israel. According to this resolution, Israel was recognized as a state, but the other part of this resolution of establishing a Palestinian state was not fulfilled. What is demanded from the international civilized community is the recognition of the Palestinian state as a fact and supporting it. Another resolution is the resolution 194 which states the returning of Palestinian refugees to their own homeland and compensating them. Besides, the resolutions 242, 338and the latest one was 2334 which called for cessation of the settlements.
Through the contious policy of ignoring and rejecting the resolutions of the international legitimacy and Geneva conventions, Israel considers itself as state out of the international law. This is clear in their actions against the Palestinian peaceful protesters in Palestine especially in Gaza.
On the contrary, our people are demonstrating peacefully against the occupation, and our leadership is working also for a civilized solution based on the resolutions of the international legitimacy and the resolutions of the security council, to establish an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its eternal capital.
Who is more committed today to the resolutions of international legitimacy? And who is acting in a civilized way according to the international law?
Israel’s continued settlements policy, the siege of Gaza and the destruction of the two-state solution will certainly lead us to the other solution which is the one-state solution, which we will not accept in any way to be a racist state, but a democratic state with equal rights for all who live there regardless of race, religion, color and any other classifications. The Palestinians today constitute 50% of the population of historical Palestine. Therefore, the Israelis have no other solution, either two states solution, or one democratic state solution with equal rights as it happened in South Africa. This fact has been assured by the Israeli journalist in Haaretz Gideon Levy who describes the actions committed by the Israeli soldiers as discriminating actions. He said and I quote: “If Israel establishes relations with all of the countries and there was no solution with the Palestinians, then Israel will remain in a problem in this part of the world”.
The far-right politicians in Israel should listen to reasonable voices in Israel and the world, as Prof. Naom Chomsky, Prof. Norman Finkelstein, the member of the House of Commons in Great Britain Gerald Kaufman, the Neturei Karta movement, and the Jewish voice for peace movement, and many others.
The history shows that the bet on the surplus force is not enough to protect occupiers, the Soviet Union, The Nazis, The Apartheid regime in South Africa, and many other occupiers are big instances of this historical truth. This is the principle of history and Israel is not an exception out of this rule. The steadfastness of the Palestinian people through 100 years of conflict with the Zionist movement proves this fact daily and the military force will never wipe our memory. Our people remain in Palestine and Palestine remains in the hearts of every Palestinian inside Palestine and in the diaspora.
The world today is looking for peace makers and humanity keepers, as Frederik de Klerk and Nelson Mandela, Yasser Arafat, Charles de Gaulle, Albert Camus, Abraham Lincoln and for a peace partner in Israel like Isaac Rabin who was
killed by Israeli anti-peace. The Palestinian leadership today represented by the PLO and its president Mahmoud Abbas insists more than any other time to achieve the peace that is based on justice in Palestine.
Thank you all and our thanks to all of the free voices in the world which call for peace, justice and equality and which support the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as a capital of Palestine. De situatie, de toestand in Gaza :

De situatie in Gaza is onmenselijk en miserabel slecht – er zijn meer plaatsen op de wereld waar ongerechtigheid heerst en waarvoor aandacht moet zijn – maar Gaza is heel bijzonder

Waarom dan zo bijzonder en uitzonderlijk ?????

1. punt Omdat het al zo lang een soort openlucht gevangenis is waarin het leven bijna onmogelijk wordt gemaakt, en ook voor alle Palestijnen worden-alle aspecten van het leven al zo lang door de bezetting beheerst en vorige week was Dhr. Yaghi uit Gaza v/d PMRS in Groningen op bezoek en hij zei dat in een glijdende schaal er nog steeds een schepje ellende bovenop wordt gedaan door het Isr. beleid—elk verzet, ook geweldloos verzet wordt keihard bestraft !!!!!!!! Zoals we de laatste weken in Gaza hebben gezien: steeds nieuwe wetten of wetjes, foto van soldaten, geen recht op hoger beroep voor Palestijnen, rechten voor illegale nederzettingen. Dit is bijzonder in de geschiedenis, die door de keiharde Sharon ooit verwijderd moesten worden. Dit is bijzonder in de geschiedenis. De Israelische regering kan haar gang maar gaan omdat Trump dat allemaal goed vindt !!!Het is ongelooflijk en er zijn bijna geen woorden voor !!!

2. punt waarom Gaza zo bijzonder is: Omdat de kwestie Gaza- Palestina door Israël en Amerika verdraaid , met halve waarheden en hele leugens wordt omgeven en weergegeven. Dit betreft wat er in 1948 is gebeurd bij het ontstaan van de Staat Israël, maar geldt ook voor bijna alles van vandaag de dag, onder het mom dat Israël zichzelf mag verdedigen worden heel veel onrechtmatige acties uitgevoerd. En ook worden daarbij de Palestijnse rechten en belangen volledig ontkent en genegeerd !

Een mevrouw uit Gaza zei het zo : “Jullie in het Westen keren ons verzet helemaal om, ons verzet is niet de oorzaak v/het probleem maar juist een gevolg van onze onderdrukking.”

Deze voortdurende verdraaiing van de feiten wordt met een zeer sterke media campagne door Israël en Amerika zo overtuigend gebracht, dat een groot deel van de wereld en van het publiek dat gaat geloven. Dit komt mede door de wereldmacht positie van Amerika, en dat veel Westerse landen , ook Nederland, Amerika niet durven of willen tegenspreken.

een paar voorbeelden:
A. de gewelddadigheden van de laatste weken wordt door Israël en Amerika in de schoenen geschoven van Hamas en de Palestijnen zelf , dit is precies de omgekeerde wereld , hun demonstraties zijn niet de oorzaak, maar hun jarenlange onderdrukking en blokkade door Israël is dé oorzaak.

B. Nikki Haley de US vertegenwoordiger bij de UN, vertelt maar steeds deze verdraaide feiten in de UN vergaderingen, andere landen zijn het niet met haar eens, maar wat zij maar steeds zegt wordt wereldwijd via TV beelden uitgezonden en dan toch door veel mensen geloofd !

Dus aan ons, aan jullie en mij, om niet die verdraaiingen en halve waarheden en hele leugens te geloven maar juist wel het goede eerlijke verhaal te vertellen aan zoveel mogelijk mensen-en onze solidariteit te betonen aan de Gazanen en alle Palestijnen.

Dr Ang Swee, een Britse chirurg die vrijwilligers werk deed als arts onder Palestijnse slachtoffers schreef vorige week aan een Palestijnse kennis van mij het volgende :

We weten dat de bezetting nog lang niet voorbij is !! Maar Ik heb Palestijnen ontmoet die voortdurend boven elke tragedie uit weten te stijgen. Wat wij moeten doen is doorgaan met onze support voor hen en solidair met ze blijven.Zij zijn een sterk volk van bouwers dat wij hun vrienden juist door hen inspiratie krijgen en behouden om door te gaan met de tocht naar gerechtigheid samen met ze, en niet bang zijn of wankelmoedig. Het zal niet over zijn zolang gerechtigheid niet hersteld is. het zal niet over zijn zolang de tyrannie niet verslagen is, het zal niet over zijn voordat de Palestijnen in vrijheid en waardigheid kunnen leven.

U en ik we zullen ons blijvend moeten verzetten tegen onrecht overal, maar nu vooral tegen het grote onrecht begaan in de West Bank en Gaza, maar vooral vandaag staan we hier dus voor het onrecht begaan in Gaza. We roepen Nederlandse Regering en Parlement op om dit in te zien en te veroordelen, vooral nu ze in de Veiligheidsraad zitten.

Wij willen, kunnen en mogen de mensen in Gaza niet in de steek laten!!!
